R&N No. 425 at Tamaqua
On Sunday, May 11, Reading & Northern No. 425 is spotted north of the
station platform in Tamaqua while Andy Muller, his mother, and their
families enjoy dinner in The Restaurant at the Station (www.therestaurantatthestation.com).
Her blue paint scheme recalls the BLUE COMET. Her headlight came
from Delaware, Lackawanna & Western "Pocono" (4-8-4) No. 1501; her
bell and whistle, from Reading G-1sa Pacifics. When she left, the
sounds reverberating through the town and the hills took me back to
the Reading's renowned Iron Horse Rambles.

R&N 425 at Port Clinton
Here is No. 425 backing down to her train at Port Clinton. Hearing
her deep chime Reading G-1sa passenger whistle reminded me of the
Iron Horse Rambles "Speed" Picture Stops here, when huge
110-foot-long, 404-ton Reading T-1 4-8-4's erupted from beneath the
Route 61 bridge.
